Error description

  • PERFORM JVMSERVER JVM GATHER DIAGNOSTICS fails:

DFHSJ0937 Failed to gather diagnostics information for JVM
server JVMNAME. For more information see the trace file at
    /tmp/diagnostics-trace-yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm-ss.txt.

    The trace file shows:

    Directory "/workdir/diagnostics/APPLID/JVMNAME/properties" does
not contain any .property files to use. This may indicate the
JVM server has never been enabled.

    However there are properties files.

A JVMSERVER is installed and enabled in a region. Later, the
GATHER DIAGNOSTICS command is used to collect all the output
from the JVM server into a single archive file for sharing with
IBM Support. The command fails with the following message
    written to the joblog:

DFHSJ0937 Failed to gather diagnostics information for JVM
server JVMNAME. For more information see the trace file at
    /tmp/diagnostics-trace-yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm-ss.txt.

    The trace file shows:

    Directory "/workdir/diagnostics/APPLID/JVMNAME/properties" does
not contain any .property files to use. This may indicate the
JVM server has never been enabled.

    However there are properties files.

Problem conclusion

  • The GATHER DIAGNOSTICS command has been updated so that the
script invoked drives a Java program to reduce the usage of
shell commands. The GATHER DIAGNOSTICS command will now produce
a .zip archive rather than a .tar archive.
