PH61562: JES spool files STDOUT/STDERR/JVMLOG/JVMTRACE do not spin when the JVM is recycled.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When STDOUT/STDERR/JVMLOG/JVMTrace is directed to the JES
  spool by coding the DDNAMES in the JVMPROFILE and using
  FREE=CLOSE and SPIN=UNALLOC in the JCL on the DDNames,
  the spool files are not SPUN when the JVM is recycled.

Problem summary

  *                      JVMLOG/JVMTRACE are not deallocated     *
  *                      when the JVM server is disabled.        *

  When  STDOUT/STDERR/JVMLOG/JVMTRACE are written out to
  JES spool and   "FREE=CLOSE,SPIN=UNALLOC" is added to any or
  all of the DD cards, the JES spool files are still not released
  when the JVM server  is disabled. This means the files cannot
  be printed or deleted until CICS is recycled.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS code is modified to close and deallocate the spool files
  when the JVM server is disabled and allocate new files on
  restart. The spun files are available for printing, deleting
  etc.
