Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server users of Web * * Services-Atomic Transactions (WS-AT) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: NullPointerException occurs during * * recovery in * * WSATRecoveryCoordinator.fromLogData * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** APAR PH56881 provided a fix to prevent an error that caused a WS-AT subordinate from being logged in a 1PC rollback case when an error occurred during rollback that resulted in subordinate having a null superior WS-AT Coordinator, however it did not allow a system that had already logged such a subordinate to recover successfully. This APAR allows such a system to be successfully recovered.
Problem conclusion
After applying the fix, a system that has a logged WS-AT subordinate with a null superior can be successfully recovered. The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.5.5.26 and 9.0.5.21.
