PH60928: DISPLAY CHSTATUS DOES NOT RETURN THE EXPECTED NUMBER OF CHANNELS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• DIS CHSTATUS does not return the actual number of channels
  expected to be RUNNING or in any other state. Development finds
  this is related to an underlying ABEND0C4 in CSQMRXIC which
  occurs because of a defect in the CHIN EOT logic that results
  in the xGWA address in the MGBL not being cleared if the CHIN
  is cancelled.
  

Local fix

• STOP the CHINIT normally.

  The code which handles CHINIT shutdown when cancelled was not
  correctly handling channel information when the MAXCHL
  attribute was changed before the cancel. As a result of this,
  when the CHINIT restarts, the DISPLAY CHSTATUS(*) command does
  not display the correct information.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code has been changed to correctly handle the shutdown of
  the CHINIT when cancelled and subsequently, the
  DISPLAY CHSTATUS(*) command returns the correct information.
