PH60900: DMPMQMSG / QLOAD NOT SELECTING MESSAGES BY AGE (-T)

Error description

• Utility program DMPMQMSG / QLOAD doesn't select messages by age
  (-T flag) for certain timezones due to an error in accounting
  for the timezone information when calculating the age of the
  messages.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DMPMQMSG displays the wrong message age *
  *                      when being executed from a different    *
  *                      timezone. For instance, when running    *
  *                      DMPMQMSG in GMT+2, messages would       *
  *                      display 2 hours older than they         *
  *                      actually were.                          *
  *                                                              *
  *                      The error causes the displayed message  *
  *                      age to be offset by the timezone        *
  *                      DMPMQMSG is being executed from. In     *
  *                      some cases this results in a negative   *
  *                      message age. This results in messages   *
  *                      not being correctly selected by age     *
  *                      (-T)                                    *

  The QLOAD module considered "now" as the systems local time,
  not accounting for the timezone of the local system. QLOAD would
  then calculate the message age by subtracting the put time of
  the message from "now", not factoring in the time difference
  caused by the local timezone.
  

Problem conclusion

• QLOAD has been modified to adjust for the timezone offset so
  that message age is calculated and displayed correctly on z/OS.
