Error description
The records of the unloaded data are unduly padded with low values (i.e. 0x00 / binary zeroes) This occurs when all the following conditions are fulfilled: - the use of zIIP processors is enabled (i.e. either the ZIIP n option or the VUX039/ZIIP parmib parameter specifies a percentage greater than 0) - zIIP processors are available - the applicable padding character (specified by the PADDING option, if any, and depends on the output format and CCSID otherwise) is different from 0x00
Local fix
Run the unload with the use of zIIP processor disabled by specifying the ZIIP OFF option.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of Db2 High Performance Unload for * * z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The end of the records of the unloaded * * data that should be filled in using * * the applicable padding character * * contains unpredictable characters * * (e.g. 0x00 / binary zeroes). All the * * incorrect characters at the end of a * * record are not systematically * * identical. * * * * This occurs when all the following * * conditions are fulfilled: * * - the output dataset DCB (either set * * by Db2 HPU or specified by the user) * * has F or FB for RECFM and a LRECL * * value that does not imply a truncation * * of the unloaded data * * - the resulting table contains one of * * the following: * * - a variable type column to be * * formatted with the LENTGH REAL * * attribute * * - a nullable column and rows having * * the NULL value for this column * * that implies the length of the * * output field for the column to be * * different from the field length * * for a not NULL value (typically * * if FORMAT DELIMITED is specified * * and the applicable value to use * * for NULL values is shorter than * * the nullable column) * * - the use of zIIP processors is * * enabled (i.e. either the ZIIP n * * option or the VUX039/ZIIP parmib * * parameter specifies a percentage * * greater than 0) * * - zIIP processors are available * * * * The issue is more visible if the * * applicable record padding character * * (specified by the PADDING option, if * * any, and depends on the output format * * and CCSID otherwise) is different from * * 0x00 which is the more likely * * incorrect character. * * * * Local fix: run the unload with the use * * of zIIP processor disabled by * * specifying the ZIIP OFF option. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF * **************************************************************** Incorrect record padding character (low values) when using zIIP processor
