PH60717: WRONG ALGORITHM WHILE CALCULATING A SKIPPED GENERATION ABSOLUTE NAME

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The internal utility `relgen` used to resolve a GDS relative
  name is miscalculating the generation level when a negative
  generation level is provided and the GDG has skipped
  generations. This is impacting dcp, dgrep, mls and mrm. The
  other utilities do not use relgen.
  For example:
  1. The GDG has some gaps between generations, example:
  GDG.G0001V00
  GDG.G0002V00
  GDG.G0005V00
  GDG.G0006V00
  2. A negative generation level that should skip generations is
  provided.
  relgen GDG(-2)
  Expected result: This should resolve to the generation level
  GDG.G0002V00.
  Actual result:
  BGYSC6009E The computed generation is not active in the GDG
