PH59902: ABENDU1009 OR HANGING SITUATION DURING UNLOAD FROM IMAGE COPY ATPARTITION LEVEL

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Db2 HPU enables a too big degree of partition parallelism which
  can lead to an ABENDU1009 or an hanging situation.
  This occurs when all the following conditions are fulfilled:
  - the unload is a logical unload (SELECT statement) for a
  partitioned-by-range tablespace
  - the data is unloaded from image copies at the partition level
  - the image copies must be sorted (e.g. INLINE copy)
  - the SELECT statement contains both a WHERE Clause and an ORDER
  BY clause
  - the lds parallelism greater than 1 applies (request by the
  unload statement or by default through the Db2 HPU settings)
  - the VUM033/OPTRGPRT parmlib parameter is set to YES
  
  In such a case, Db2 HPU should take the MAXSORT option or
  parmlib parameter which it unduly does not do.
  

Local fix

• Set the partition parallelism to 1.
