Error description

  • Attempting to use a CICS resource overrides file
which includes a dot within the filename (for example,
prefix.cicsoverrides.yaml) causes CICS to terminate during
startup. The following messages are issued:

DFHPA2011 E applid RESOVERRIDES SIT OVERRIDE SPECIFIES AN
INVALID FILE NAME: INVALID FILE EXTENSION.
    DFHKE0102 DBDCCICS UNSUCCESSFUL RE-INITIALIZATION OF
                DFHPA DOMAIN. CICS WILL TERMINATE.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: zFS filename on RESOVERRIDES SIT *
    * parameter only accepts filename format *
    *                      of name.yaml or name.yml .              *
    ****************************************************************
The recommended naming convention for the zFS filename specified
on the RESOVERRIDES SIT parameter has the format of:

    prefix.cicsoverrides.yaml
    or
    prefix.cicsoverrides.yml

During CICS start-up, DFHPARC validation code checks what
follows the first dot, doesn't find yaml (or yml) and issues:
    DFHPA2011, followed by DFHKE0102 and DFHKE1800. Start-up
    terminates.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHPARC has been modified to check what follows the last dot in
the zFS filename is a valid extension of yaml or yml.
