    ****************************************************************
This APAR fixes the following issues of IBM IMS HALDB Toolkit
    V1.1.
    1. Storage shortage may occur during HTK execution when DBDs
containing large amounts of metadata are used in an
       IMS-managed ACB environment.
The IMS catalog API (DFS3CATQ) loads DBDs with large amounts
of metadata below the 16MB line in an IMS managed ACB
       environment, resulting in storage shortages.
Code has been changed to specify the new DFS3CATQ parameter
EXTATTR=NONE, as provided in IMS APAR PH39492.
If EXTATTR=NONE is specified, DBDs without metadata will be
       loaded.

    2. HTK can occasionally get ABENDS878-10 with GETMAIN processing
of buffers when the all following conditions are met.
        1) ONLINE(Y) is specified in IHCSYSIN.
        2) BMP application updates the database in the Copy phase.
        3) IMS OSAM database
        4) DBDS block size is large.
Code has been changed to reduce number of database buffers
when updating OSAM database in the Copy phase.

    3. When dynalloc failure occurred for the restart data set,
only the first job that allocated the restart data set
is included in the messages in MSGPRINT DD and traces
in TRACE DD. However when multiple jobs allocated the restart
data set, it is better to include all job names in traces to
       make it easier to investigate.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been changed to fix the issues described in this APAR.
