PH58376: LIU UNDER IMS ADMINISTRATION TOOL AND CATALOG MANAGER CAUSE THE PROBLEMS WHEN THESE PROCESS UNEXPECTED INPUT

Error description

• LIU under IMS Administration Tool may cause ABEND0C4 when LIU is
  called to put the value for IMS SPUFI and LIU cannot read a DBD
  which is referred by a processing PSB. LIU under IMS
  Administration Tool and the Catalog Manager also cause BLDL
  error when LIU decodes or compares PSB and all of the following
  conditions met. The PSB is in the IMS directory staging dataset,
  the PSB has DB PCB of MSDB and the MSDB is not in the IMS
  directory staging dataset. LIU tries to obtain SENSEG value from
  MSDB and it causes BLDL error.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: LIU under IMS Administration Tool       *

  *                      expand the PSB information for IMS      *
  *                      SPUFI and LIU cannot read a DBD which   *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *

  This APAR fixes the following issues.
  -LIU under the IMS Administration Tool causes ABEND0C4 when LIU
  is called to expand the PSB information for IMS SPUFI and LIU
  cannot read a DBD which is referred by a processing PSB. LIU is
  fixed not to cause ABSEND0C4 and it issues warning message
  MSGFABX0014W.
  -The Catalog Manager and LIU under the IMS Administration Tool
  cause BLDL error when LIU decodes or compares PSB and all of
  the following conditions met.
   - The PSB is in the IMS directory staging dataset
   - The PSB has a DB PCB of MSDB
   - The MSDB is only in the IMS directory active dataset and is
     not in the IMS directory staging dataset.
  LIU tries to read the MSDB in the IMS directory staging dataset
  to decode the SENSEG statement but LIU fails to read it and
  BLDL error is occurred.
  This APAR fixes the LIU not to cause BLDL error for processing
  a PSB in the IMS directory staging dataset. LIU issues new
  message MSGFABN0087W and decodes PSB without the SENSEG
  statement for DB PCB for MSDB.
