PH58050: 0C4 IN IOS UCB FORMATTER DURING SNAP/ABDUMP PROCESSING.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IMS OSAM Data Extent Blocks (DEB) have DEBEXSCL set to x'02'
  to indicate that these DEB's are to be ignored by the "Partial
  Release" (RLSE) function, even though these are DASD data sets.
  Being set to x'02' caused the IOS UCB dump formatter to use the
  wrong size when trying to format the DEB-UCB information, and
  that led to the 0C4.
  
     DEBEXSCL should be set to x'04' for DASD data sets. This will
  reflect the correct size of DASD DEB's, and allow the DEB's and
  UCB's to be formatted correctly for OSAM data sets.

    IMS OSAM Data Extent Blocks (DEB) have DEBEXSCL set to x'02'
  to indicate that these DEB's are to be ignored by the "Partial
  Release" (RLSE) function, while the data sets are open. However,
  the x'02' value caused the IOS UCB dump formatter to get too
  little storage for the UCB's, and that led to the 0C4.
  
     DEBEXSCL should be set to x'04' for DASD data sets. This will
  reflect the correct size of DASD DEB's, and allow the DEB's and
  UCB's to be formatted correctly for OSAM data sets.

•    DEBEXSCL has been set to x'04' for OSAM data sets. This will
  allow UCB's to be formatted correctly for OSAM data sets.
