PH58009: ROUTED TRANSACTION FAILS IN AOR WITH DFHSM0002 X'0C09' FOLLOWED BY AN ABENDAEXZ

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A transaction that is routed to the AOR fails with
  a DFHSM0002 x'0C09' error followed by an abendAEXZ.
  
  x'0C09' is an 'invalid length for TP storage' error.
  
  The trace shows the failure happening on an attempt to GETMAIN
  x'FFF8' bytes of storage for a TIOA :

  25865B70,YES,00,TERMINAL,SYST
  
  The maximum allowable TIOA length, max_tioa_length is x'FFEB'
  hence the error.
  

Local fix

•  1) Create a LPA project in ELM.
  

Problem summary

  *                      failed with a DFHSM0002 x'0C09' error   *
  *                      followed by an abend AEXZ.              *
  ****************************************************************
  A Web transaction using request streams is routed to an AOR
  passing a TIOA of maximum length to send the response back to
  the partner. The length of a Storage Accounting Area and TIOA
  prefix are added to the requested length of the TIOA in the
  process. After the transaction ends, the TIOA is left behind to
  be reused.
  
  Later on, a 3270 terminal transaction passing a CHANNEL enters
  the region on this session. It reuses the previously left behind
  TIOA and requests storage of length X'FFF8'in order to copy the
  TIOA contents from the current link TIOA into a new TIOA.
  The user transaction fails with the exception
  Invalid_length_on_getmain_for_TP_subpool_storage as the GETMAIN
  length is greater than the maximum TIOA length of X'FFEB'.
  
  A DFHSM0002 x'0C09' error is observed in the CICS AOR followed
  by an abend AEXZ.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS has been changed to use the correct length on the GETMAIN
  call.
