APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Submitted Institutional Claim with a 2300 CLM segment but there
is no 2300 REF*F8 with a Payer Claim Control Number.

The HIPAA Business Rule 59170 states 2300 REF01="F8" must be
present when CLM05-03="7","8".

The 999 acknowledgment incorrectly reports that 2300 CLM segment
is not present.

Error reporting for missing segments not providing ctx
information in the 999

Platforms Affected:

Problem conclusion

  • Added a new parameter to allow user to indicate the missing
segment should be in the IK3 segment in 999, with the segment
that triggered the requirement to be in the CTX segment

Applies to:
Healthcare Pack HIPAA  10.1.0, 10.2.0, 10.2.1

Fixed in the next service packs and releases.
