Error description
An abemd occurs when using IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) 10.1.2 on the z/OS platform to validate / transform an input file over 2Gb in size. Appears to be a 32bit / 64bit mismatch, but is not. The ABEND can occur even if using the 64bit Command Server core engine. Only occurs if the input data does not match the input type tree.
Local fix
ITXCQ - ITX00062068 PB / PB Circumvention: None
Problem summary
Users Affected: IBM Transformation Extender users using a type tree parse files greater than 2 gigabytes. Problem Description: Map job fails with out of memory condition when input file exceeds 2GB. Platforms Affected: All
Problem conclusion
Correct parse function to properly calculate the number of bytes needed for parse. Previously, if parse buffer was greater than 2 gigabytes, a size number went negative, then became a huge positive number and then ITX produce message that a get memory failed. Now ITX properly fails the parse with "INPUT x exists (0 bytes) but has no content.". Applies to: 10.1.1.1, 10.1.2.0, 11.0.0.0 Fixed in the next service packs and releases. To obtain the fix for this APAR: To see if the next service pack or product release is available, check the IBM Transformation Extender Release Notes page: https://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27008337 If the service pack or product release is available, download it from Fix Central: http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/ If the service pack or product release is not available and you require the APAR fix immediately, request a Limited Availability Interim Fix (LAIF) by opening a case: https://www.ibm.com/mysupport/ Prior to version 9.0.0, IBM Transformation Extender was called IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender.
