APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) Pack for EDI X12
ANSI 4010 type trees, where a free form text field has been
altered to allow for a larger size input, and then larger data
is used as input at runtime.

Where the type tree object FreeFormMsgText has been altered to
allow an unlimited number of bytes, when the map is compiled and
executed, it crashes the execution engine.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
IBM Transformation Extender users using text mapping of large
objects.

Problem Description:
Core Engine is getting crashed while processing 3.5MB free form
text field into a type tree text object.

Platforms Affected:
All

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed a problem in the validate input where map crashes due to
accessing invalid address.

Applies to:
10.1.1.1, 10.1.2.0, 11.0.0.0

Fixed in the next service packs and releases.
