PH56462: WRONG CVDA VALUE FOR EXTENDED RRDS DATASET - DFHVALUE(EXTENDED)

APAR status

Error description

• Using INQUIRE call in program to get the RBATYPE of extended
  datasets. Comparing the returned CVDA value for extended KSDS
  and extended ESDS, the value in it is '1128' (decimal) which
  means it is extended. But for extended RRDS VSAM dataset, the
  value is '1129' (decimal), which does not seem to be correct, as
  the RRDS VSAM dataset is also extended and '1129' (decimal)
  indicates that it is not extended.

  When an INQUIRE FILE command is issued against a file, a test is
  done to check whether the RBA type of file and the CVDA value is
  set to '1128' Extended or '1129' Notextended.
  However, this test is missing for file types of RRDS & VRRDS and
  the CVDA value always gets set to '1129' Notextended even for
  extended files.
  

Problem conclusion

• File Control has been changed to test whether RRDS and VRRDS
  files are extended or non-extended, and to set the correct CVDA.
