  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: New functionality that will enable the  *
  *                      user to remove completed or             *
  *                      cancelled updates from the Completed    *
  *                      Updates table in the Software Update    *
  *                      user interface.                         *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: The z/OSMF Software Update task in z/OS 3.1  *
  *                 is enhanced to delete completed and          *
  *                 cancelled SWU operations to reduce the UNIX  *
  *                 file system space used to persist SMP/E      *
  *                 output associated with those operations. In  *
  *                 addition,the z/OSMF Software Update task has *
  *                 been enhanced to obtain HOLDDATA for review  *
  *                 directly from the SMPCSI instead of using    *
  *                 the SMP/E LIST command.                      *

  The z/OSMF Software Update task has been enhanced as
  follows:
  1. Delete completed and cancelled SWU operations.
  2. Obtain HOLDDATA for review directly from the SMPCSI instead
  of using the SMP/E LIST command, thus improving the performance
  of Software Update and reducing the volume of persisted SMP/E
  output for each Update process.
