APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When STC01-1 has non-compliant data and fails and STC10 and
STC11 are present, both of those data elements fail compliance
with Type 2 Error Code: 2 {Conditional required data element
missing.}

When STC10 and STC11 are not present, only STC01-1 fails which
is correct.

Problem Description:
Valid STC10 and STC11 elements in the 277CA (5010X214) report
errors if there is an error in STC01


Platforms Affected:
ALL

Problem conclusion

  • STC01, 10, and 11 are all Healthcare Claim Status elements.  11
should not be present if 10 absent, but the segment tree rules
weren't check if 10 or 1 present but in error. Update segment
tree rules to in all loops with STC segment to correct.

Healthcare Pack HIPAA  10.2.1
