Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS High Performance Image Copy for z/OS * * Version 4 Release 2 users ( FMID=H1J0420 ) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR fixes following problems: * * 1. When IMS HP Image Copy is scheduled * * by IMS Online Reorganization Facility * * ( ORF ) and target database is HALDB, * * it terminates with ABEND U3951 * * ( ABENDU3951 ) and outputs FABJ3951E * * ( MSGFABJ3951E ). * * 2. Image Copy function with * * FASTIC=(opt,COPY) terminates with * * ABEND U3812 ( ABENDU3812 ) and * * outputs FABJ3812E ( MSGFABJ3912E ) * * for DSSCMDB when HASH Check option is * * enabled or secondary image copy of * * Fast Recovery format is requested. * * 3. Recovery function or Create Image * * Copy function with CRCTYPE=P of IMS HP * * Image Copy terminates with ABEND S0C4 * * ( ABEND0C4 ) in module FABJFCC5 when * * input image copy is the Fast Recovery * * format. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR * **************************************************************** This APAR fixes following problems: 1. When IMS HP Image Copy is scheduled by IMS Online Reorganization Facility ( ORF ) and target database is HALDB, it terminates with ABEND U3951 ( ABENDU3951 ) and outputs FABJ3951E ( MSGFABJ3951E ). 2. Image Copy function with FASTIC=(opt,COPY) terminates with ABEND U3812 ( ABENDU3812 ) and outputs FABJ3812E ( MSGFABJ3912E ) for DSSCMDB when HASH Check option is enabled or secondary image copy of Fast Recovery format is requested. 3. Recovery function or Create Image Copy function with CRCTYPE=P of IMS HP Image Copy terminates with ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) in module FABJFCC5 when input image copy is the Fast Recovery format. The causes of these problems are related to storage conditions. 1. Image copy of HLADB ILDS and PHIDAM primary index are not supported. IMS HP Image Copy checks them in the process. However, it refers incorrect storage address. As the result, IMS HP Image Copy under ORF tries to create an image copy of unnessary data set. then ABEND U3951 ( ABENDU3915 ) occurs. 2. IMS HP Image Copy obtains the storage for NOTIFY command. It obtains the storage in the wrong size. 3. FABJFCC5 refers an internal control block, but Recovery function or Create Image Copy function with CRCTYPE=P does not create it. Therefor, ABEND S0C4 ( ABENDS0C4 ) occurs with reference to non-existent control block.
Problem conclusion
For avoiding ABENDa, IMS HP Image copy has been modified as follows: 1. Change the database check logic for ILDS of HALDB and primary index of PHIDAM. 2. Use correct buffer size for obtaining storage. 3.Bypass logic that reffers unneccesary control block for Rcovery function and Create Image Copy function with CRCTYPE=P.
