Error description

• The wmq.jmsra.ivt.ear provided by IBM MQ for z/OS returns
  unreadable characters.
  
  The issue is that certain files in the wmq.jmsra.ivt.ear have
  been encoded in EBCDIC.
  

Local fix

• Download the resource adapter from Fix Central and use the
  wmq.jmsra.ivt.ear provided in it.

  When the IBM MQ resource adapter installation verification test
  program (wmq.jmsra.ivt.ear) from an IBM MQ for z/OS
  installation is installed into an application server and run,
  it generated unreadable output. This was because a number of
  the files that it contained were incorrectly encoded in EBCDIC.
  

Problem conclusion

• To resolve this issue, the internal build process that
  generates the IBM MQ resource adapter installation
  verification test program on z/OS has been updated to ensure
  that all of the files used by the program are encoded in
  ISO8859-1. This ensures that the program works as expected,
  and generates readable output when it is run.
