APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When the EXTERNAL-SSID keyword is specified on an IMSUPDATE
command, IMS CT did not replace all external subsystem IDs in
IMS log data sets for the target IMS subsystem, which could
cause some errors in emergency restart for the target IMS
    subsystem.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Unexpected error when emergency- *
    * restarting the target IMS subsystem *
    * connected to external subsystems. *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
When cloning the source IMS that is online with connections
to external subsystems, IMS Cloning Tool IMSUPDATE command
did not modify all external subsystem IDs in IMS log records
, which are X'4030' and X'4031' types, for the target IMS
subsystem. It leads to a potential error when emergency-
    restarting the target IMS subsystem.

Problem conclusion

  • Install the APAR to fix the above problems for the IMSUPDATE
    command.

In addition, the RESTART-COMMAND in the following sample JCL
    members has been modified.
    - GCLISTRT
    - GCLISTR2
    - GCLONEJB

The following error messages have been added.
GCL32A44E ERROR DETERMINING SSID PAIR LENGTH; SOURCE ssid
    Explanation:
A record in the IMS log data set was found to contain an SSID
matching an SSID specified in the IMSUPDATE command, but IMS
Cloning Tool could not determine the length of the paired SSID.
    User response:
Check the EXTERNAL-SSID keyword specified in the IMSUPDATE
command. If the problem cannot be resolved, contact IBM
Software Support with the listing that contains the COPY
    and IMSUPDATE commands.

GCL32A45W rectype RECORD SSID:ssid NOT INCLUDED IN SSID PAIRS
    Explanation:
A record in the IMS log data set was found to contain an SSID
not specified in the EXTERNAL-SSID keyword. The updating of the
    record is bypassed.
    User response:
None required. If a problem occurs when starting the cloned IMS
subsystem, specify the appropriate SSID pair in the
EXTERNAL-SSID keyword and rerun the IMSUPDATE command.
