APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In IDz v16.0.1 Users fail to establish a RCE connection when
Express Logon feature (ELF) is enabled on the host.

A test connection with RCE fails with error like:

Host disconnected

The TN3270 job on the host displays an error 500A, like:

CONN DROP  ERR 500A

Steps to reproduce:

1- Import a X509 client certificate in Windows Certificate
manager or use a smartcard
2- Configure RCE to use this certificate and enable security
3- Test the connection

Local fix

  • There is no known workaround at this time.

Problem summary

  • S3270 did not support ELF login.

Problem conclusion

  • S3270 now supports ELF login.
