PH54672: CHANGE HPIC RETURN CODE FOR ORF PROCESS WHEN SPMN ENDS WITH WARNING

APAR status

• Closed as new function.

Error description

• IMS HP Image Copy return code for ORF will be changed from 04 to
  02, when SPMN ends with warning. The SPMN RC 04 means warning.
  But when ORF gets RC=04 from HPIC,
  ORF regards it as error and stop reorganization process. So HPIC
  change the RC for ORF to 02 when in this situation.

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR          *

  IMS Online Reorganization Facility (ORF) terminates with ABEND
  U0999 ( ABENDU0999 ) when the space monitor (SPMN) warning
  occurs.
  
  When the space monitor warning occurs, space monitor returns
  return code 04. IMS HP Image Copy receives it and passes it to
  ORF. ORF terminates with ABEND U0999 ( ABENDU0999 ) because ORF
  treats return code 04 as database error detected during HASH
  check function of HD Pointer Checker.
  

Problem conclusion

• When IMS HP Image Copy is scheduled by ORF and the space monitor
  warning occurs, IMS HP Image Copy changes return code from 04 to
  02 and passes it to ORF. ORF continues processing and ends
  normally.
