PH54629: MESSAGE CHC9217E IS ISSUED STATING THAT AT LEAST ONE OF THE CDC PACKAGES HAS BEEN BOUND WITH AN APPLCOMPAT OF "" WHEN OBSOLETED

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If CDC is running on a Db2 subsystem that is upgrading to Db2
  V12 or higher from the version before V11, after applying some
  maintenance, starting up CDC would encounter message CHC9217E,
  stating that at least one of the CDC  packages has been bound
  with an APPLCOMPAT of "", the address space is then suspending
  for shutdown. This is because the obsoleted CDC packages that
  are required before Db2 V11 would never be bound any more and
  neither be deleted, which confounds the APPLCOMPAT checking
  logic introduced by recent maintenance.
  

Local fix

• Manually remove the obsoleted CDC package rows from Db2
  Catalogue table.
