  • Db2 AOC:  Compare Tool generates invalid WSL that
fails with SQLCODE = -20385


DESCRIPTION:

When processing a compare of TS/TB/IX, the Compare Tool
generates a WSL with a missing REORG. This causes the CREATE IX
statement to fail with a -20385 due to REORG pending status.


Error Message:

ADB7955E    DSNT408I SQLCODE = -20385, ERROR:  THE STATEMENT
            CANNOT BE PROCESSED BECAUSE
            THERE ARE PENDING DEFINITION CHANGES FOR
            'object-name' OF TYPE TABLESPACE (REASON 17)

Object Compare incorrectly places a REORG statement after a
CREATE INDEX statement but before the table space pending
changes have been resolved. This order results in a SQLCODE =
-20385 when running the WSL.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been fixed. Object Compare will properly
place the REORG statement before the CREATE INDEX statement.
