Error description

  • CICS receives an invalid HTTP chunk. When peaking for the chunk
header in DFHWBCL it receives a buffer of all nulls. While
processing the chunk header the lack of CRLF causes CICS to
    loop through the data repeatedly.

CICS goes into recovery and purges the runaway task, the
    transaction abends with code AEXZ:

DFHAC2206 11:49:15 IYCKZCDA Transaction TRAN failed with abend
    AEXZ. Updates
to local recoverable resources backed out.

The system log will output the following error message:

DFHWB0004 A possible loop has been detected at offset
    X'FFFFFFFF' in module DFHWBCL.

CICS receives an invalid HTTP chunk. When peaking for the chunk
header in DFHWBCL it receives a buffer of all nulls. While
processing the chunk header the lack of CRLF causes CICS to
loop through the data repeatedly. This leads to a DFHWB0004
    message and AEXZ abend.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHWBCL has been updated to correctly handle an invalid HTTP
    chunk with a missing CRLF.
