Error description

  • Loosen BIND PACKAGE statement restriction for the CDC target
apply packages, to allow a different value for the APPLCOMPAT
operand of the BIND PACKAGE statement used during CDC instance
creation.

* USERS AFFECTED: Users of IIDR CDC for z/OS                   *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If DB2 V12 or a later version is being  *
*                      used, CDC requires all its DB2 packages *
*                      to be bound with an APPLCOMPAT value    *
*                      that corresponds to a function level    *
*                      of the DB2 version in use. Otherwise    *
*                      message CHC9217E would be issued and    *
*                      CDC address space suspends for          *
*                      shutdown. However, this rule is too far *
*                      reached for the packages which are only *
*                      used to apply data changes to customer  *
*                      application tables.                     *

The restriction on the APPLCOMPAT operand for CDC target apply
packages should be relieved.

Problem conclusion

  • The restriction on the APPLCOMPAT operand for CDC target apply
packages CHCPK1XX.CHCDTCDB and CHCPK1XX.CHCDTCF has been
relieved.
