Error description

• ABENDU0384-0000000F may occur at FRXPDSS0 in DRF master address
  space. This is because DRF master address space is trying to
  send control information to the DRF sort subordinate address
  space via IMS PIPE even though the DRF sort subordinate address
  space was terminated with EARLY END OF RECOVERY.

  DRF subordinate address space, when terminated with EARLY END OF
   RECOVERY, removes DFSPPBK (IMS pipe control block and
  associated structures) after initiating shutdown of the master
  address space via IMS PIPE.  When terminated with EARLY END OF
  RECOVERY, DRF subordinate address space may issue a tape usage
  request to DRF master address apace depending on a timing. In
  this case, DFSPPBK may have been already removed when DRF master
   address space tries to respond to DRF subordinate address space
   via IMS PIPE, which results in ABENDU0384-0000000F.
  

Problem conclusion

• When terminated with EARLY END OF RECOVERY and a tape usage
  request remains, DRF subordinate address space posts the
  processing to another DRF subordinate address space in a wait
  state. This APAR prevents issuing ABENDU0384-0000000F when
  DFSPPBK (IMS pipe control block and associated structures) has
  been removed and a response for tape usage request is sent via
  IMS PIPE.
