Local fix

  • commenting out the SO_ExlusiveAddreuse line from
    /usr/WebSphere/AppServer/optionalLibraries/jython/Lib/socket.py
but this obviously is not a long term solution and not one we
want to go into Production with.

    ****************************************************************
There is an issue with the update process that doesn't allow
the new jython files to be updated. This is because jython
    files are marked as non-serviceable.

Problem conclusion

  • The installation metadata was updated to mark
    optionalLibraries/jython/Lib/ contents as serviceable
    beginning in 9.0.5.16 and 8.5.5.24.

However, files changed from non-serviceable (NSF) to
serviceable are not themselves updated at the point they
become serviceable, so the change is not effective until
    9.0.5.17 and 8.5.5.25.

The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
9.0.5.17 and 8.5.5.25. For more information, see 'Recommended
    Updates for WebSphere Application Server':
