PH53720: MESSAGE CHC0330E AND CHC1522E MAY BE ISSUED IF DB2 CONFIGURATION KEYWORD TRUNCATE IS CONFIGURED AS RESTRICT_TRIGGERS, AFTER WHIC

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When DB2 configuration keyword TRUNCATE is configured as
  RESTRICT_TRIGGERS, IIDR CDC for z/OS replicates source TRUNCATE
  IMMEDIATE operation as a CLEAR message. However, if the TRUNCATE
  IMMEDIATE operation somehow fails before it can succeed, CDC
  would end the replication after reporting message CHC0330E and
  CHC1522E.
  

Local fix

• Configure the keyword TRUNCATE to be OFF.

  The logic to handle TRUNCATE IMMDEIATE operation does not
  process the failure of TRUNCATE IMMEDIATE properly, this causes
  message CHC0330E and CHC1522E to be issued and replication to
  fail.
  

Problem conclusion

• The logic to handle TRUNCATE IMMDEIATE operation has been
  improved.
