Error description
This PTF includes three changes - . 1. Fixing an issue to correctly position the tape for tape mounts that do not specify the OFFSET operand. If the OFFSET operand is omitted with TAPEMNT command, then Tape Manager will now correctly use the default values for offset as below and position the tape accordingly. . a. The default is OFFSET 1 for standard label processing, which positions a standard label volume to the file that immediately follows the label. b. The default is OFFSET 0 for LABEL NL or LABEL BLP processing, which positions the volume at the start of the tape. . This change will not impact Backup and Restore Manager for z/VM. . 2. Enhancing Tape Manager processing to re-establish the catalog and request node connections if TCPIP connectivity is temporarily lost. If the connection between the catalog and request nodes are lost, then Tape Manager will re-try to establish the connection until Retry_Limit exceeds. Retry_Limit is an existing option in Tape Manager-s SYS CONFIG file while defining local or remote nodes. . 3. Informational messages in DMM logs were added for CP GIVE errors due to an invalid user or user not logged on scenarios. .
