This APAR addresses the following problems:
    1. DR preparation job gets PUT error for Report Repository
    VSAM data set.
    2. Incorrect DB name filtering process for the pattern string
    having wild card.
    3. IMS RE cannot handle concatenated ACB data sets defined
    by DFSMDA.

Problem conclusion

  • The following errors have been fixed.
    1. VSAM KSDS PUT error for Report Repository VSAM data set
can be caused by the following programming errors:
     - Wrong key value is set to the report repository records
when the system recovery profile is defined for DR profile.
     - Report repository update process is not properly serialized
       between DR prep jobs.

    2. DBD name matching error occurs when the pattern string
    satisfies the following conditions:
     - The pattern string ends with non-wildcard character.
     - The substring after the last wildcard character *
       is two consecutive same character.
For example, when the pattern string AB*XX is specified and
registered DBs are ABCDXX and ABCDXXX, ABCDXX is picked out,
    but ABCDXXX is not.

    3. MDA module parsing process has an error for concatenated
ACB libraries. For example, if ACB libraries are defined as
listed below, only the first data set IMS.ACB1 is picked out,
    the others are ignored.
    Error example:
    DFSMDA TYPE=INITIAL
    DFSMDA TYPE=IMSACBA
    DFSMDA TYPE=DATASET,DSNAME=IMS.ACB1
    DFSMDA TYPE=DATASET,DSNAME=IMS.ACB2
    DFSMDA TYPE=DATASET,DSNAME=IMS.ACB3
    DFSMDA TYPE=FINAL
    END
