If users are preparing to migrate to Db2 13 or to activate a
Db2 13 function level, they can avoid working through the Db2
installation CLIST panels in interactive mode by running a
batch job with valid input parameter files to generate required
    JCL jobs and other artifacts.

Comments

  • This PTF adds new parts DSNTIDOM, DSNTIDON, DSNTIDOA, and
DSNTIJBC in the prefix.SDSNSAMP target library, adds a new
program DSNTIFMT in the prefix.SDSNLOAD target library, and
generates a new Db2 installation CLIST, which can run in the
background and enables users to generate tailored Db2
migration or function level activation jobs.
    - DSNTIDOM is a parameter override file that provides
overriding values for migrating a stand-alone Db2 subsystem
or the first member of a Db2 data sharing group to a new
      release of Db2.
    - DSNTIDON is a parameter override file that provides
overriding values for migrating the second or subsequent
member of a Db2 data sharing group to a new release of Db2.
    - DSNTIDOA is a parameter override file that provides
overriding values for activating a Db2 function level when
using the Db2 installation CLIST DSNTINSB in batch mode.
    - DSNTIJBC is a JCL job that consists of these two basic
      steps:
o Executes the program DSNTIFMT, which creates the Db2
installation CLIST DSNTINSB. DSNTIFMT is a program that
formats DSNTINST into a member called DSNTINSB, which is
then executed to generate customized parts in batch. The
generated DSNTINSB installation CLIST is the same as
DSNTINST but can be called using JCL to be executed in
        the background mode.
o Starts DSNTINSB using ISPSTART to run the Db2
        installation CLIST in batch mode.
