APAR status

Error description

  • Rational Synergy 7.2.2.x

Scenario:
successfully installed Rational Synergy 7.2.2 server (as
Administrator) but without creating informix server at the same
time
then run as Administrator:
ccmsrv create
then use all defaults except:
Please enter the maximum number of users [40]
set this to 197 (or more)

Result:
the informix instance creation fails with this error:
Initializing Disk Space and Shared Memory, please wait ...
..
Processing temp, log, and ccm dbspaces, please wait ...
..............................
Bringing database server to OnLine state, please wait ...
Building sysmaster, sysutils, sysuser, and sysadmin databases,
please wait ...
..........
ERROR:  There is no sysmaster database available.
ERROR:  shared memory not initialized for INFORMIXSERVER 'xxxx'
Clean up database server's files....

Local fix

  • Use default user number of 40
Then, after successful creation of Informix instance run:
ccmsrv modify /user 200 (or whichever is referred)
Modify max users to 200 ? (Y/N) [Y]
users changed to 200
