APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • HIPAA data fails on rule 59070 which enforces the balancing
    requirement that 2400 SV302 = SUM (2430 SVD02) + SUM (2430 CAS
Adj's). Without the CTX segment that references the 2430 SVD
segment, there is no indication that the error involves
balancing instead of just a simple error with the contents of
the 2400 SV302 element. If 0 is not a valid value for 2110
CTX03, then the rules validation engine needs to be modified
accordingly and return a non-zero segment position for the CTX
    segment whenever possible.

The following 999 with CTX segment content shown below would let
the user know that the 2400 SV302 error involves Other Payer
Adjudication and specify the location of an SVD segment with the
    Other Payer's Payer-ID in 2430 SVD01.

    IK3*SV3*39*2400*8~
    IK4*2*782*I12*2~
    CTX*SITUATIONAL TRIGGER*SVD*41**2*782~

The V9 compliance check 999 indicates the SVD segment caused the
reported error for the 2400 SV302 element but the V10
compliance check 999 indicates the error is limited to the 2400
    SV302 element content.

HIPAA 999 Reporting Drops CTX Detail Returned by Rule Validation

    Platforms Affected:
    ALL

Problem conclusion

  • Multiple rule types in the hcsvu exit were updated to return the
location of the first addend of the sum, so the CTX could be
created with a non-zero segment location.

    Applies to:
    Healthcare Pack HIPAA 10.1.0, 10.2.0, 10.2.1

Fixed in the next service packs and releases.
