Error description

  • In the customer's WASv8.5.5.20 system, they have observed a
negative value for %D and a dash(-) for %{R}W in the NCSA access
log. This issue might be caused when the system machine time go
back in time to past during the request processing. But even in
that case, it's better to calculate an absolute processing time
    without depending on OS clock.

Elapsed time calculations for the HTTP access log may be
displayed as a negative value when the OS clock goes back in
    time.

Problem conclusion

  • Elapsed time calcuations are now calculated using methods that d
not depend on the OS clock.
