PH51301: 837P TRANSACTION IS FAILING COMPLIANCE FOR PER06 WITH A TYPE 2 DATA ELEMENT TOO LONG ERROR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• HIPAA 837P transaction is failing compliance for PER06 with a
  type 2 data element too long error when the PER06 is greater
  than 80 characters. PER06 supports up to 256 characters.
  Another transaction with the exact same PER06 does not fail.
  The failure occurs when there is another compliance failure.
  For example, the PER06 failure occurs when another compliance
  failure for 59077 edit that is turned off for the tenant.  If
  the 2310C N3/N4 is edited, the file passes compliance.  If for
  the same file the PER06 is shortened to 80 characters, the file
  passes compliance.  The PER06 data element size was limited to
  80 characters in version 4010.
