APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • All users are unable to successfully use the QCF ISPF UI after a
    QCFIN open error.
    This issue is kicked off by a user getting a RACF authorization
    violation.  After this, other users (who have access)
    intermittently cannot use the ISPF UI QCF panels.
    

Local fix

  • Recycle the QCF Server.
    
    An indication that the defect has occurred is when the following
    two messages appear at the same time:
    IQC8001E UNABLE TO OPEN DATASET, DDNAME=QCFIN@02
    BPE0040E DYN UNALLOC FAILED FOR PRINT@02, RC=00000004/00000420

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
    ****************************************************************
    When using the ISPF UI and detecting an OPEN error for the QCFIN
    data set, it terminates without being closed the QCFPRINT data
    set and the UNALLOCTE processing for the QCFPRINT data set fails
    in error postprocessing. This leaves the QCFPRINT data set
    allocated to the QCF Server, and when another user uses the ISPF
    UI, DYNALLOC fails, and it cannot be used successfully.
    

Problem conclusion

  • QCF has been changed to close the QCFPRINT data set after
    detecting an OPEN error for the QCFIN data set.
