Error description

  • Stand-alone Recovery Sensor of STEPLIB requires all libraries to
be APF-authorized, but it will terminate normally even if they
are not. In this APAR, IROSENSR will be modified to check the
    APF status of STEPLIB.

    *                      Sensor is not APF-authorize, dynamic    *
    * allocation of the RECON data sets using *
    * IMSDALIB DD cannot be performed and *

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF *
    ****************************************************************
The Recovery Sensor manual states that all libraries
specified in the STEPLIB must be APF-registered, but the
Recovery Sensor does not check the APF-authorization status
    of STEPLIB.

Therefore, If any of the libraries concatenated to STEPLIB is
not APF-registered, and STEPLIB is not APF-authorized,
dynamic allocation of RECON data sets using IMSDALIB DD cannot
be performed and S206 ABEND will occur.

Recovery sensor should check the APF authorization status of
    STEPLIB at the start time.

Problem conclusion

  • The Recovery Sensor has been modified as follows:

The Recovery Sensor checks the APF-authorization status of the
STEPLIB using the TESTAUTH macro at the start time, and if it
is not APF-authorized, it issues error message IRO4017A and
     terminates with return code 8.
