Error description

  • APAR PH30252 for CICS TS changed the behaviour related with the
    CICS-Db2 Attach. With this APAR applied, CICS-Db2 Attach is
    enhanced to detect that adapter origin data is present, and if
    the DB2ENTRY or pool specifies ACCOUNTREC(TASK) or
    ACCOUNTREC(UOW), passes extra data to Db2 when issuing a
    partial or full signon.

    The appl-longname will contain the 64 bytes of Adapter id
    preceded by a 28 byte string eyecatcher. It will result in the
    Db2 special register CURRENT CLIENT_APPLNAME being set by CICS
    and the data is written to the Db2 accounting record.

    But now the customer needs a way to configure CICS so they can
    continue explicity setting the long name client application
    name, instead of CICS. The customer needs a way to disable this
    CICS auditing function.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Incorrect data in DB2 accounting field *
    *                      for end user transaction/application.   *
    *                      APAR PH30252 is installed.              *

    This is an issue when using Db2 stored procedure
    WLM_SET_CLIENT_INFO as that also changes the same accounting
    record at partial or full signon.

Problem conclusion

  • UI74497 UI74496 UI74495

    CICS provides new feature toggle 'com.ibm.cics.db2.origindata'
    to add the option to bypass feature of APAR PH30252.

    The IBM Documentation will be updated with a new feature toggle
    com.ibm.cics.db2.origindata={true|false} true being the default.

    This feature toggle allows you to use the adapter tracking
    capability.
