PH49308: EYU9XLRS AT V6.1 HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED FOR THE CURRENT RELEASE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• EYU9XLRS was not modified as part of the upgrade to V6.1.
  This means that when it is assembled with the R6.1 codebase
  the program code to select earlier releases is not included.
  
  This means that when DFHRSSR fails and calls EYU9XLRS to produce
  a dump it always runs the V6.1 code, not the level appropriate
  for earlier CICS releases.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When EYU9XLRS is called to take a dump  *
  *                      including ESSS and the data spaces it   *
  *                      incorrectly determines the release      *
  *                      dependent module it should call for     *
  *                      earlier releases. This can lead to      *
  *                      errors in the data dumped.              *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF to all MASes. This can be done *
  *                 in any order.                                *
  ****************************************************************
  When a MAS encounters an abend it calls DFHRSSR which links to
  EYU9XLRS to take a dump of the ESSS and data spaces along with
  the CICS region.
  
  If CPSM is at V6.1 and CICS is at an earlier version then the
  wrong version of EYU9XLRS is used. EYU9XLRS was assembled
  without the code required to check which CICS version it is
  running on. It therefore always runs the V6.1 dump routine which
  may collect incorrect data in an earlier version.
  

Problem conclusion

• EYU9XLRS has been modified to include the code to determine the
  CICS release and call the release specific module where
  appropriate.
