PH49091: HP IMAGE COPY ABEND S0C4 IN FUNC=TERM IN DRF SAS PROCESS

Error description

• When FUN=TERM is scheduled without having scheduled FUNC=CLOSE
  in DRF SAS, HPIC abends with S0C4. The reason is HPIC control
  block cannot be fetched.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IMS HP Image Copy terminates with ABEND *
  *                      S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) when the following    *
  *                      conditions are met:                     *
  *                      - IMS HP Image Copy is scheduled in the *
  *                        Database Recovery Facility (DRF) of   *
  *                        IMS Recovery Solution Pack 2.1.       *
  *                      - An error occurs during DB record      *
  *                        process in the subordinate address    *
  *                        space of DRF.                         *
  ****************************************************************
  IMS HP Image Copy terminates with ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) when
  the following conditions are met:
  - IMS HP Image Copy is scheduled in the Database Recovery
    Facility (DRF) of IMS Recovery Solution Pack 2.1.
  - An error occurs during DB record process in the subordinate
    address space of DRF.
  
  If an error is detected in the DB record process of the DRF,
  FUNC=CLOSE request in the SAS of the IMS HP Image Copy is
  bypassed. However, FUNC=TERM in IMS HP Image Copy references
  data in the internal control block that should be set in
  FUNC=CLOSE. As the result, IMS HP Image Copy terminates with
  ABEND S0C4.
  

Problem conclusion

• By this APAR, it changes that FUNC=TERM in SAS of IMS HP Image
  Copy does not reference unnecessary data for avoiding ABEND
  S0C4.
