Error description

  • EXEC CICS START TRANSID(tttt) SYSID(ssss) results in tttt
    starting locally. tttt is a transaction defined and installed
    with the DYNAMIC(YES) attribute. ssss is a valid, acquired, and
    available connection to another CICS region. DSRTPGM is set to
    NONE.

    At CICS/TS 5.5 with that setup, tttt is function shipped to the
    remote CICS region. At CICS/TS 5.6 with that setup, tttt is
    started in the local CICS region.

Local fix

  • Set DSRTPGM=DFHDSRT or specify Dynamic(No) on the transaction
    definition.

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS Users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: At CICS TS 5.6 and CICS TS 6.1 a SYSID *
    * specified on an EXEC CICS START TRAN() *
    * command is ignored for a transaction *
    * that is defined as DYNAMIC(YES) when *
    *                      SIT parameter DSRTGPGM=NONE.            *
    * CICS attempts to run the transaction *
    *                      locally.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    At CICS TS 5.6 and CICS TS 6.1 if a transaction is defined as
    DYNAMIC(YES) but there is no routing program active in the
    region (SIT parameter DSRTPGM=NONE) then CICS will attempt to
    run the transaction locally and ignore any SYSID specified on
    an EXEC CICS START TRAN() command.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS has been changed so that if a SYSID is specified on an
    EXEC CICS START TRAN() command then that is honoured.
