PH48741: ADMIN TOOL: ERRONEOUS ADB5256I MESSAGE WHEN CALL TO SYSPROC.ADMIN_INFO_SSID HAS FAILED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Stored procedure SYSPROC.ADMIN_INFO_SSID is called to obtain the
  Db2 system SSID in order to validate the input SSID. If the
  call fails and returns a negative SQL code, message ADB5256I is
  issued in error. Instead, a new message describing the failed
  call to SYSPROC.ADMIN_INFO_SSID should be issued. This will
  enable users to diagnose and correct the problem themselves, in
  many cases.

  This APAR resolves this problem as follows:
  Even if stored procedure SYSPROC.ADMIN_INFO_SSID is not properly
  installed, the Db2 SSID name parameter can still be validated.
  Message ADB5256I is not issued. Instead, new message ADB5250W
  is issued to warn that the stored procedure could not be
  called.
  

Problem conclusion
