PH47791: ADMIN TOOL: ADDING A COLUMN TO A TABLE DOES NOT RECREATE ALL DEPENDENT VIEWS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Adding a column to a table does not recreate all the views
  dependent on the table or the views on that table. Having a
  chain of views dependent on one another VW4 -> VW3 -> VW2 ->
  VW1-> TB will not result in all the views being recreated.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Object Compare generates a change file  *
  *                      that did not recreate all views when a  *
  *                      chain of dependent views exists.        *
  ****************************************************************
  Object Compare did not check the status of the parent view to
  see if it had been dropped. Therefore, the "dropped" value was
  not set to 'Y' on the current view when the parent view had been
  dropped. This situation caused an error that prevented some
  views from being recreated.
  
  This problem is corrected. If a view is dependent on another
  view, the parent view's dropped status is checked before
  updating the current view's dropped status.
