PH47603: CMSG ROUTE=ALL suffers ABNK abend.

APAR status

Error description

• The CICS CMSG transaction abends with abcode ABNK
  when routing a message to an invalid terminal.

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If CMSG is used with ROUTE=ALL or R=ALL *
  *                      and it attempts to send the message to  *
  *                      a remote terminal with an invalid or    *
  *                      unknown system ID the transaction will  *
  *                      abend ABNK.                             *
  ****************************************************************
  When CMSG is used to route a message to all terminals, if it
  tries to send the message to a remote terminal with an unknown
  system ID then the transaction will abend ABNK and create a dump
  that indicates a problem in module DFHTPS. CICS did not issue an
  error message as would be expected.
  

Problem conclusion

• A code change has been introduced to DFHTPS so that no abend
  ABNK is raised for a remote terminal with an unknown system ID.
  Instead of the abend ABNK, new message DFHTP4175 will be issued
  that details the problematic terminal ID and system ID.
  
  Additionally, in the case where CMSG encounters a remote
  terminal with a valid system ID but an unknown terminal ID
  on the remote region, the code is changed so that DFHTP4174
  indicates the problematic terminal ID, where it used to
  incorrectly indicate the value of REMOTESYSTem.
