PH47004: IMS DBR AND IDCAMS DEL/DEF COMMANDS ARE NOT GENERATED FOR INDEX DBDS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When IC has not been taken after REORG for an index DBDS, IMS
  Recovery Expert DB recovery job generates neither IMS /DBR
  command nor IDCAMS DEL/DEF command for the index DBDS even
  though "Include indexes in recovery list" option is set NO.

  When IC has not been taken after REORG (index rebuilding) for
  an index DBDS, IMS Recovery Expert DB recovery job generates
  neither IMS /DBR command nor IDCAMS DEL/DEF command for the
  index DBDS even if 'Include indexes in recovery list' option
  of 'Recovery Utility Options' is set to 'N'.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code has been changed to correct the problem.
  In addition to fixing the problem, this APAR provides
  limited support for JES3 environment. You can run DB
  recovery job in JES3 environment, but please be cautious
  that you need to fill out JOB statement and JES3 control
  statement by 'Update Spawned Job Options' since subordinate
  JOB JCL generation function has some restrictions.
  
  The following restrictions for JES3 still exist after applying
  this APAR.
  1. For building subordinate job process, system affinity
    JES3 job control statement is not generated for
    subordinate jobs.
  2. For building subordinate job process, if the length of main
    job's class name is more than one, the class name is not set
    to subordinate job's class name.
  3. Multiple offload job function does not work.
    'Use Multiple Jobs' in 'Offload Options' must be
    set to 'N'.
  4. IMS on-line start/stop function does not work. You cannot
    restore IMS system using SLB.
