  • DRL0136W is issued when the collector is shutdown between SMF070
records when they are split.

*                      starting or stopping the collector.     *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
****************************************************************
If the collector is stopped between the first and last record
when an SMF_070 is split, message DRL0136W is issued and the
record is discarded.
Additional diagnostic text in DRLDUMP:
At shutdown: "Split SMF 70 orphaned at termination"
At startup:  "Split SMF type 70: Initial record missing"

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • System table DRLCHECKPOINT has been added containing a Db2 BLOB
for storing internal structures when a commit is performed. This
will allow for information to be saved over a shutdown/startup
and for better error recovery when restarting at the last commit
point. Data in DRLCHECKPOINT is keyed by jobname. When a collect
starts, it reads the data saved from the last time that jobname
ran. For SMF_070 records, this will allow saving of incomplete
split records.
