APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Using IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz) v15.0.4, after connecting to
    a Database of a z/OS host in the Data Source Explorer view, and
    connecting to the same host in the "Remote Systems" view, if a
    sql script is run, clearing cached Files (Window > Preferences >
    Remote Systems > File Cache)  hangs the workbench.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When Data Studio is installed with z/OS Explorer, using the
    Remote Systems clear cached files functionality can cause
    Eclipse to freeze
    

Problem conclusion

  • The Remote Systems clear cached files operation gets blocked by
    the Data Statio resource handling code, which locks the entire
    workspace in response to a deletion event
